George Clooney may be Hollywood royalty, but few fans realize his talent runs even deeper in the family tree. One familiar face from NCIS: Los Angeles actually shared a close bloodline with the Oscar-winning star — and chances are you never noticed.
Miguel Ferrer, best known to TV audiences as Assistant Director Owen Granger, was Clooney’s first cousin. Ferrer’s mother was Rosemary Clooney, the legendary singer and actress who starred in White Christmas, making Miguel part of one of entertainment’s most storied families. His father, José Ferrer, was an Academy Award–winning actor in classics like Cyrano de Bergerac.
Before joining NCIS: Los Angeles, Ferrer built a formidable résumé with roles in RoboCop, Twin Peaks, and Iron Man 3. In a surprising full-circle moment, he even appeared uncredited on ER, sharing the screen with Clooney himself. It’s a Hollywood connection hiding in plain sight.
