NCIS is getting a shake-up for its next season, with two new recurring characters set to join the cast — and they’re already making waves behind the scenes.
First is Special Agent Jordan Steele, played by rising star Laila Whitmore. Steele is described as “a fearless cybercrime expert who thrives on bending the rules,” often putting her at odds with veteran agents like Alden Parker (Gary Cole). Sources say Steele will be introduced in the season premiere and quickly become a key player in several high-stakes cases.
Also joining is Dr. Thomas Blake, a Navy psychologist portrayed by acclaimed actor Victor Garber. Blake will consult on cases involving mental health, trauma, and rehabilitation — but producers tease he may also have a personal tie to one of the agents that will slowly unfold over the season.
Executive producer Steven D. Binder hinted in an interview,
“We’re not just adding characters to fill space. These two have backstories that will ripple through the team dynamic in ways fans haven’t seen before.”
Behind the scenes, both Whitmore and Garber have reportedly fit in seamlessly with the cast, sharing meals with crew members and jumping into on-set jokes. Early set photos show Whitmore filming an intense night shoot with Katrina Law and Sean Murray, while Garber was spotted in a quieter scene with Diona Reasonover.
The new season premieres this fall, and if the early buzz is any indication, viewers can expect fresh energy, unexpected tensions, and maybe even a few surprises that will test the loyalties of the NCIS team.
