After more than two decades on television, NCIS is about to hit an incredible milestone: its 500th episode.
But according to Brian Dietzen, the actor behind fan-favorite medical examiner Jimmy Palmer, viewers shouldn’t expect a traditional retrospective.
Instead, the episode will be something entirely different.
Speaking with TV Insider, Dietzen revealed that the milestone installment will be deeply emotional and could even shape the future of the series.
“For our previous 100th episodes — 100, 200, 300, and 400 — we usually celebrated the past,” he explained. “But this one is very atypical.”
Season 23’s upcoming episodes will also explore major character stories, including Jimmy’s evolving personal life and a spotlight on Kasie Hines.
With the show now entering its 23rd season, Dietzen acknowledged the pressure of keeping the series fresh but praised the dedicated cast and crew for continuing to deliver strong episodes.
Fans will finally get to experience the historic episode when it airs March 24 on CBS.
