Missy’s Young Sheldon Season 7 Arc Proves She Has More Stories To Tell
Amid the chaos in Young Sheldon season 7, The Big Bang Theory prequel has managed to develop a mini-arc for Missy when she started dating a new boy, Taylor. The pair’s romance is short-lived, as he dumps her in Young Sheldon season 7, episode 4, “Ants on a Log and a Cheating Winker.” As Missy goes through a stereotypical teenage heartbreak, it’s a reminder of how underutilized the character has been. Her more normal experiences could have been a great juxtaposition to Sheldon’s unique path. Georgie and Mandy’s show could have made up for that by involving Missy.
Before the Young Sheldon’s sequel series announcement, Missy was the perfect candidate to spearhead a new expansion show. The Big Bang Theory revealed enough about her that lays the foundation for her future stories. It could have been a team-up show with Missy and Georgie as they navigate life after George’s death, with Sheldon popping by occasionally. Unfortunately, that is not in the cards. While Revord still can guest star as Missy, it isn’t going to be the same as her being a series regular. Now, the pressure is on Young Sheldon to properly wrap up her personal arc.
