Missy is all grown-up in her Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage return as revealed in a new promo. CBS’ 2024-2025 TV schedule is now in full swing, which includes broadcast’s #1 comedy. Following a debut year that leaned more on Young Sheldon nostalgia, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage season 2 starts prioritizing its future, particularly Georgie’s established fate as an eventual successful tire entrepreneur.
In a new promo clip for Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage season 2, episode 3, “A Will and a Dead Man’s Wife” (via Young Sheldon‘s YouTube channel), Reagan Revord reprises her role as George and Mary’s only daughter for the first time this season. The video shows her, looking very much a grown-up, during a tense phone conversation with Georgie about their mom. Watch the video below:
Missy was a recurring guest star in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage season 2, with Chuck Lorre and the writers’ room realizing how important she is to Georgie’s story. Admittedly, she would have been a bigger presence in the spinoff after the Young Sheldon finale, especially since she also has a lot of interesting stories left to tell. Per The Big Bang Theory, Georgie looked after Missy at this point in their history, as Sheldon’s twin went down a rebellious path.
Because the nerd-centric sitcom didn’t get into specifics about what exactly Missy did during her teenage years, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has the space to be more creative in terms of crafting her story in the spinoff sequel. The unexpected death of George in Young Sheldon took a toll on everyone, but it was arguably the worst for Missy, since she was closest to her dad. Perhaps Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage can bring back Lance Barber again for a Missy-centric plot, the same way it did with Georgie in season 1.
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage season 2, episode 3 won’t be about Missy, however. Instead, it will tackle Mary’s attempt at dating again after losing her husband. Still, Sheldon’s twin will be an important character in the storyline, since she’s the only Cooper kid who still lives with their mom. Hopefully, next time, the show can further explore what’s really going on with Missy a year after the death of her dad.
