Michael Weatherly Teases Tony DiNozzo’s Next Chapter: “We’re Not Done Yet”

For years, Michael Weatherly has dodged the inevitable question: Will Tony DiNozzo ever return to NCIS for good? But now, the actor is offering the strongest hint yet that DiNozzo’s story isn’t over.

During a recent interview while promoting his upcoming NCIS spinoff with Cote de Pablo, Weatherly dropped a tantalizing tease: “Let’s just say Tony’s still got some unfinished business. And not just in Paris.”

That comment sent longtime fans into a frenzy. Since his Season 13 departure, DiNozzo has remained one of NCIS’s most beloved characters, especially in his romantic arc with Ziva David. While both characters are set to star in the upcoming series tentatively titled “NCIS: Europe”, there are rumblings that DiNozzo may make a brief cameo in the mothership series too.

Executive producer David North hasn’t ruled it out: “We’re always open to reunions if they serve the story — and Tony? He’s family.”

Interestingly, Weatherly has also been seen on set of the NCIS studio lot in Los Angeles. Some fans speculate it could be for flashbacks or a secret cameo during the season premiere.

The actor, who left NCIS to star in CBS’s Bull, is now ready to return to his roots. “I’ve learned a lot since I left,” he said. “But DiNozzo? He’s always been with me.”

The question isn’t if he’ll return — it’s when.
