After being eliminated from The Golden Bachelorette, Mark Anderson may have already found true love, which makes him ineligible to be The Golden Bachelor. Before appearing on the unscripted dating show for senior citizens, Mark made his television debut during an entirely different Bachelor franchise show. He appeared on The Bachelor season 28 during his daughter, Kelsey Anderson’s, hometown visit. When she took her boyfriend, Joey Graziadei, home to meet her father, Mark was an immediate fan-favorite.
Fans immediately fell in love with the 58-year-old retired widower, and it wasn’t much of a surprise when he was cast in The Golden Bachelorette season 1. Though he was expected to easily win the heart of 62-year-old Joan Vassos, she sent Mark home before her hometown dates. Since then, Mark has been romantically linked with a television actress, and it may mean he won’t be replacing Gerry Turner as the next The Golden Bachelor.
Mark Is Too Sweet To Break Women’s Hearts
He Tries Too Hard & Lacks Killer Instincts
While Joan was excited to learn that Mark would be a contestant on The Golden Bachelorette season 1, the two lacked chemistry. Part of the problem may have been that Mark was trying too hard. Joan didn’t give Mark a solo date until later in the season, even though Mark always tried to pull Joan aside. Though she kissed him during their impromptu German lesson, the whole thing was his idea. If Mark had tried that hard with Joan, he would likely have done the same during The Golden Bachelor season 2.
Mark Was Looking For Love, Not Drama
A Bachelor Lead Often Has To Deal With Drama
Mark was minding his own business when Kelsey decided to apply to be on The Bachelor season 28.He never expected to be on television, and he certainly didn’t pursue reality television fame. He was just a widowed father of four living in Louisiana, trying to live his best, most authentic life. Mark wouldn’t be great at being The Golden Bachelor because he doesn’t enjoy drama, which is a necessary prerequisite for a Bachelor lead.
Mark Is Happy In His New Relationship
Did Prince Charming Find His Cinderella?
It all started on Halloween. The television actress Barbara Alyn Woods, from the scripted drama series One Tree Hill, posted an Instagram photo that featured Mark dressed as Prince Charming and Barbara dressed as Cinderella. Kelseyrecently posted their family holiday photos, which clarified her father’s relationship. In the photos, Mark, his children, and their significant others gather on a stairway in matching pajamas, andBarbara is there. It’s hard not to read this as validation that Mark and Barbara are a couple, which means he can’t be The Golden Bachelor.
