Rege-Jean Page as the Duke of Hastings – Exited After Season 1
Many were very upset to learn that the Duke of Hastings would not return beyond season 1.
Rege-Jean said that he was pitched the show as a one-season arc and he agreed to play Simon because he wouldn’t be committing to multiple seasons.
“It’s a one-season arc. It’s going to have a beginning, middle, end – give us a year,” Rege told Variety. “[I thought] ‘That’s interesting,’ because then it felt like a limited series. I get to come in, I get to contribute my bit and then the Bridgerton family rolls on.”
Three New Cast Members!
In addition, Netflix announced three new stars: Katie Leung, who will portray Lady Araminta Gun, Michelle Mao, who will portray Rosamund Li, and Isabella Wei, who will portray Posy Li.

Lady Araminta Gun: Twice-married and twice-widowed, Araminta has two daughters debuting on the marriage mart this season and she’s feeling the pressure to get at least one of her girls married off. Fabulous, discerning, and blunt, Araminta does not respond well when anything — or anyone — threatens her standing in society.
Rosamund Li: Beautiful, vain, and eager to please her mother, Rosamund is Araminta’s eldest daughter and most prized possession. Rosamund sets her sights on Benedict this social season. And, just like her mother, Rosamund is determined to get what she wants.
Posy Li: Rosamund’s younger, kinder sister is also debuting this year. But Araminta rarely puts the spotlight on her second child. Posy’s chatty, overly friendly demeanor often has her putting her foot in her mouth.

Lorn Macdonald‘s social media post also made fans think he was exiting.
The post made it seem like he was saying goodbye to the show and exiting as Mr. Finch.
He wrote, “Albion Finch. What started off with cheese and a sneeze became a character I deeply care about. Huge thanks to everyone who made this a job I’ll never forget and to all the fans showing your love for this weird little dude. It means a lot. And to my Philippa. @harriet.cains . My partner in crime. It’s been real. Bless you.”
