Luke Kleintank is saying goodbye to FBI: International after three seasons.
The actor, who played Special Agent Scott Forrester on the CBS crime-drama, announced the news this week. His last episode as Scott airs May 7 with the season finale airing two weeks later on May 21.
“This decision is driven by my unwavering commitment to my family, whose love and well-being are paramount in my life,” Kleintank, 33, said in a statement obtained by Deadline.
“I’m profoundly thankful for the extraordinary cast and crew of the show, who have not only been colleagues but also a family away from home. Their unwavering dedication and remarkable talents have made every moment on set an unforgettable journey that has enriched my life in countless ways. Lastly, I would also like to extend my thanks to the fans who have supported us through the first three seasons.”
The third entry in Dick Wolf’s FBI franchise follows International Fly Team operatives from the Federal Bureau of Investigation working out of Budapest.
Kleintank’s departure follows co-star Heida Reed’s exit earlier this year. The Icelandic star had played Special Agent Jamie Kellett — Forrester’s second-in-command — since the show’s first season.
After Kleintank’s final episode airs, Chicago Med alum Colin Donnell will be guest starring in the last two episodes of the season.
Prior to the news of Kleintank’s departure, CBS announced it was renewing FBI: International for a fourth season alongside the other two FBI series.
“The all- FBI Tuesday is a powerful force to be reckoned with on our primetime schedule,” CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement. “Dick Wolf and the talent in front of and behind the camera on all three series continue to deliver top-notch storytelling, riveting action and intrigue that has captivated a dedicated fan base steadily across multiple seasons. We are excited to see what next season holds for all these heroic characters.”
FBI: International airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS and Global.
