The Golden Bachelor’s Leslie Fhima has broken her silence on Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s divorce announcement.
Three months after their televised wedding aired live on ABC, The Golden Bachelor stars Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist announced their divorce.
The estranged couple spoke on their break-up during a recent interview on Good Morning America, where the retired restauranter spoke on their decision to part ways.
He told journalist Juju Chang: “Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we’ve looked closely at our situation.
“Our living situation, so forth, and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage.”
As a result, many swarmed to Leslie’s social media comments who also dated Gerry during the show and ended the reality series as a runner-up.
Taking to her most recent post promoting her upcoming appearance on Celebrity Family Feud many asked the personal trainer for her opinion on the break-up.
In the comments, a user criticized Leslie for having no “respect” for Gerry and Theresa’s relationship, and claimed: “They had to always be in the spotlight continuously.”
In response, Leslie hit back: “Sorry you feel that way.. I’m very good friends with Theresa.” (sic)
She also addressed their recent divorce announcement and added: “I hope they get through this with respect from everyone.”
Although Leslie remains friends with Gerry and Theresa, she previously admitted to being blindsided by the 72-year-old after her emotional dumping.
During the finale, she told the star: “You made it sound like you chose me. You led me down a path and then you took a turn and left me there.”
After an apology, they were soon able to “patch things up” as she supported the former couple at their wedding.
During the live broadcast, Leslie stated: “We supported each other throughout the whole time in the house, and all the way through this journey.
“And I am so, so happy for her and Gerry. I really am. And I am here at the end of the day to support love in any way.”
