Kristen Stewart Says She’d Wear Bella’s ‘Twilight’ Wedding Dress for Her Own Wedding
She’s engaged to Dylan Meyer and planning a wedding.
One of the most memorable moments of 2011’s The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 (and perhaps the entire Twilight cinematic epic) was Bella and Edward’s wedding, which featured Kristen Stewart in an unforgettable long-sleeved wedding gown. The actress, who is currently engaged to Dylan Meyer, recently spoke to WhoWhatWear about the big moment, which she reflected on fondly, saying that if she were going to have a traditional wedding, she’d definitely opt for a gown similar to her character’s .
Stewart, who stars in the new bodybuilding movie Love Lies Bleeding, explained that the process of filming the wedding felt real thanks to the secretive nature of the Twilight movies in general and how she had to be hidden away to get ready for filming.
“I love that dress so much,” Stewart said of the dress, which was designed by Carolina Herrera and featured French Chantilly lace and a scoop neckline. “I remember getting into it. It felt like getting into a real wedding dress because I was being hidden in some room with, like, heaters, and I was like, ‘It’s too hot in here, and my makeup’s melting off.’”
“And they’re like, ‘Well, we’re not going to be ready for another 30 minutes.’ It was like, ‘But I’m ready now. This is the time that I can play the bride,'” she added before describing the dress as “classic” and timeless. People noted that although she’s planning her wedding at the moment, the actress didn’t give any clues as to what she ‘d wear on the big day.
“Yeah, I think if I were to ever do like a classic wedding dress, this is kind of the one,” she explained. She did hint at what she wouldn’t be wearing, though, saying that she’s grateful for having an opportunity to go very traditional because her style now is very pantsless and androgynous.
“I’m not going to do it, but I got to do it,” she said. “I appreciate that.”
Kristen Stewart’s press tour for Love Lies Bleeding continues, and produced yet another hard hitting look while she was out in New York City.
The actress arrived at Late Night With Seth Meyers on March 13, wearing an all black look with lingerie details. The 33-year-old paired a sheer, netted bra with a fitted black skirt that she accessorized with black thigh high stockings held up by black garters. To add a cool girl edge, Stewart added a black leather jacket over the ensemble and completed the look with black stilettos and red tinted sunglasses.
The look is the latest in a series of leg-bearing ensembles. On March 12, the Twilight star wore a beige Brunello Cucinelli look that contained an undone button-up blouse with matching knit underwear that added a pop of color with brown piping. Stewart wasn’t completely bare-legged — she finished off the look with sheer tights and chocolate-colored suede pumps, and accessorized with a quilted black Chanel handbag.
The lingerie elements aren’t new, either — for the red carpet premiere of Love Lies Bleeding, Stewart appeared at the event in a bodysuit by Cosabella, which featured thin straps and bold cut out details. Instead of opting for pants, she completed the look with black sheer tights and black pumps.
Needless to say, Stewart is officially in her cool girl era.
