Kristen Stewart shared on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ that she was “really lucky to re-meet” her fiancée in 2019 years after they first met on a movie set
Kristen Stewart is reflecting on the beginning of her relationship with fiancée Dylan Meyer.
During Stewart’s appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show Monday, the Love Lies Bleeding star addressed first meeting Meyer years before they began dating after host Drew Barrymore mentioned the importance of timing in a relationship.
“Yeah, I did get really lucky to re-meet someone that I was like — I was so ill-equipped and now I am like going to make this happen,” Stewart, 33, said during the appearance. “Yeah, I was just sort of in the right place to recognize and kind of respect how good she was compared to me, my selfish little self.”
Stewart and Meyer, a screenwriter and actress, began dating in 2019, but Stewart has shared in the past that they first met several years before the start of their romance.
On The Howard Stern Show in November 2019, she remarked that she and Meyer began dating following a reconnection at a mutual friend’s birthday party six years after meeting on a movie set.
Stewart confirmed that she and Meyer were engaged in November 2021, and a source recently told that the couple is “totally in love.”
“She has been happy in her committed relationship and engaged for quite some time,” the source said of Stewart, adding, “She loves being at home doing domestic things.”
“Kids are a natural progression for her,” the source adds of Stewart and Meyer’s plans to have children. “She is young and has plenty of time to plan for this.”
Stewart told Rolling Stone in a recent profile that she and Meyer have discussed having children together, with the former Twilight star saying she “really want[s] that to happen.”
“I’m not scared of being pregnant. I’m not scared of having a kid,” she shared with the outlet. “But I’m so f—– scared of childbirth, it’s crazy.”
Stewart also shared with Rolling Stone that she and Meyer are writing a potential upcoming project together and hailed the positive impact she has made on her life since the couple moved in together.
In February, Meyer shared her annual Valentine’s Day tribute to Stewart on Instagram, displaying multiple photos of the couple posing together and sharing a kiss by the ocean.
“Happy valentines to my #1 crush, the hottest cat mom in the game,” Meyer captioned her romance-filled post at the time. “I am just so, so into you.”
