Kevin Costner doesn’t have any hard feelings about leaving “Yellowstone.”
The face of the Taylor Sheridan-created series exited the show following season five going on break, and he recently made that decision official after more than a year of back and forth drama about his fate on the hit Western.
Fans are incredibly disappointed that the man who plays John Dutton isn’t returning, and I don’t blame them. The reality of the situation is that viewers won’t get the ending that was likely planned when the show premiered in 2018.
Might it still be great? Possibly. Sheridan is certainly a great writer, but expectations have come crashing down.
Kevin Costner says there’s “no bad blood” over “Yellowstone” exit.
How does Costner feel about the situation following his official exit? He doesn’t seem to have any bitter feelings. He just wants to move on.
“I don’t have any bad blood with “Yellowstone.” I love the show. You know, I just did…I have to let go of it, and I don’t really want to talk about it that much at this point. We’ll just see what life brings me,” Costner told Adam Carolla during an interview on “The Adam Carolla Show.”
Now, is Costner telling the truth when he says there’s no bad blood? Only he knows the answer to that question, but it honestly doesn’t matter at this point.
The superstar actor is out the door, and he’s almost certainly never coming back. “Yellowstone” will end with the rest of season five, and then there will be a spinoff series that follows.
How will it end? Your guess is as good as mine, but without Costner involved, I think it’s safe to assume John Dutton will be killed off-screen.
“Yellowstone” returns November 10th, and Costner is now all in on “Horizon: An American Saga.” It’s unfortunate things shook out this way. However, it’s the reality of the situation everyone is in, and nothing is going to change it. It seems like Costner has accepted that fact. Let me know what you think at [email protected].
