Kelsey Grammer is stepping into the holiday season with a new role in The Christmas Ring, produced by Karen Kingsbury Productions. The three-time Golden Globe winner will star alongside Benjamin Hollingsworth (Virgin River) and Jana Kramer in the feature adaptation of Kingsbury’s upcoming novel.

Directed by Tyler Russell and produced by Natalie Ruffino Wilson, the film is based on Kingsbury’s book, which releases October 21 through Thomas Nelson/HarperCollins — just ahead of the movie’s November 6 theatrical debut via Fathom Entertainment.
In The Christmas Ring, Kramer plays the widow of a U.S. Armed Forces member who sets out in search of her missing family Christmas ring. Her journey brings her face-to-face with a charming antiques dealer (Hollingsworth), whose father may unknowingly possess the treasured heirloom. The story stretches from World War II–era France to present-day Columbus, Georgia, blending romance, family history, and holiday warmth.
Kingsbury describes the film as “a Christmas love story like those of days gone by,” noting her inspiration from classics like While You Were Sleeping, Miracle on 34th Street, Holiday, and You’ve Got Mail. “It’s time to give people an unforgettable Christmas love story in theaters,” she said. “One they’ll want to watch every year.”
This marks another collaboration between Kingsbury Productions, Russell, and Fathom following last year’s Someone Like You, which earned over $5.9 million during its run in 1,802 theaters.
