Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco is grieving the loss of her partner Tom Pelphrey’s dog, Blue, only a few weeks after losing her puppy, King. Kaley announced Blue’s passing on March 20 via Instagram, sharing her sadness and memories of the dog who had become an inseparable part of their family. Though Blue was initially wary of Kaley when she began dating Tom, she shared how he eventually warmed to her, realizing they were a family.
“💙 BLUE 💙 I have cried harder over the loss of this gorgeous creature than I have in a long time,” she wrote in a heartfelt caption. “We have had to put down three dogs in the last year, and this one has made me reflect. I’m crying for @tommypelphrey … The relationship he had with Blue was so special. They were quite the duo, traveling across the country as a team from job to job and then returning to California, where we settled as a family.”
Kaley went on to share how Blue’s protective presence in their home made him the “quiet mascot” of their household, particularly gentle with their daughter, Matilda, and attentive to their other dogs. Despite his tough exterior, Blue softened into a loving member of their pack, though his heart always belonged to Tom. She wrote, “Blue, it was an honor to be your second favorite human down here on earth. I can’t wait for you to meet Norman, Sasha, Kingy, and Dumps. Oh, the adventures you will have! 💙💙💙💙💙.”
Following her post, Tom expressed his gratitude in the comments. “Love you so much – this is so beautiful,” he wrote. “‘To be their voice and to teach our children how to love them.’ An honor and a responsibility indeed. 🙌❤.”
When Kaley shared the news, fans poured out love and support, understanding the pain of losing a cherished pet. Many left comments, with one writing, “Such a beautiful tribute that I wish you never had to write. All dogs go to heaven, but they really should live forever.” Another shared, “Sending love and hugs to all of you!” and a third said, “So sorry for your loss … our fur babies fill our hearts.”
This year, in addition to Blue and King, Kaley also mourned the passing of Dump Truck in May 2023 and Norman in January 2021, each loss honoring the impact they had on her life. Through these heartfelt tributes, Kaley continues to celebrate the lasting love her pets brought to her family.
