Kaley Cuoco has had a number of special loves in her life.
The actress, who rose to fame on the hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory, has made headlines over the years for dating big-name stars like Superman’s Henry Cavill and her former co-star Johnny Galecki.
Now, she’s engaged to Ozark star Tom Pelphrey.
The smitten pair announced their engagement this week, with the actress and mother-of-one sharing a snap featuring her new ring and writing: “Amazing weekend.”
But it hasn’t always been sunshine and roses for the 38-year-old, and Cuoco has previously revealed how her Big Bang Theory castmates supported her as she went through her first divorce.
So, who has Kaley Cuoco been romantically involved with? Read on to find out all about her dating history.
Thad Luckinbill
Cuoco briefly dated Thad Luckinbill, who is best known for his longtime role on The Young and the Restless, in 2002.
Their relationship was short-lived and Luckinbill has been married to his Young and the Restless co-star Amelia Heinle since 2007.
Luckinbill filed for divorce from Heinle in 2017, but as of 2022, they are still together.
Kevin Zegers
Cuoco and Kevin Zegers met in 2003 while co-starring in the film The Hollow. They dated for a year, and Kevin went on to star in the TV show Gossip Girl.
In 2015, he welcomed twin girls with his wife, Jaime Feld.
Zegers and Cuoco seem to be on good terms, and reunited at an Evening from the Heart 2022 Gala hosted by John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health on Thursday, May 5 and posed for a sweet photo together.
Jaron Lowenstein
Cuoco and Jaron Lowenstein, a singer who performs with his twin brother as part of the musical duo Evan and Jaron, dated for only one year between 2005 and 2006.
Al Santos
The Charmed star was rumoured to be dating former model Al Santos in 2007. Neither of them confirmed their relationship publicly.
Josh Henderson
While Cuoco and Josh Henderson never confirmed their romance, the pair reportedly dated in 2007 for a short time.
They initially met in 2002 when Henderson guest-starred on the sitcom 8 Simple Rules.
Johnny Galecki
In 2008, Cuoco and Johnny Galecki dated secretly for almost two years while filming The Big Bang Theory. The pair portrayed the on-screen couple Leonard Hofstadter and Penny Teller in the 12-season sitcom.
They didn’t reveal their romance until calling it quits in 2009 and have both since moved on.
When Cuoco got engaged to Ryan Sweeting in 2014, Galecki told reporters that he was “very, very happy for her.”
“She’s very happy, which makes me terribly happy,” he told
Despite the split, Galecki and Cuoco still remain good friends.
Josh Resnik
After Galecki, Cuoco moved on to date Josh Resnik, an addiction specialist, in 2011.
The two were briefly engaged in October of that year but called it quits shortly after.
Christopher French
The Wedding Ringer actress was linked to singer Christopher French from 2011 to 2012.
The couple even recorded a sweet duet of ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ to benefit the Humane Society – an organisation for the welfare of animals.
French went on to marry former Disney child star Ashley Tisdale, whom he began dating in December 2012.
Bret Bollinger
Cuoco and Bret Bollinger went public with their romance in May 2012 after they were spotted locking lips while attending the LA Lakers basketball game in Los Angeles.
The duo split in January 2013.
Henry Cavill
Cuoco and Henry Cavill only dated for about two weeks in July of 2013. The pair stepped out as a couple and were snapped up by paparazzi while running errands around LA.
The pair had apparently met in June. Their short-lived romance ended within 10 days, with many fans believing it was a publicity stunt. According to sources, Cuoco called it quits because she wasn’t used to the spotlight like the Superman star was.
“She just got overwhelmed with the very public Superman relationship. She’s not used to that much attention and chaos in her life,” a source told OK! Magazine at the time.
Ryan Sweeting
The Harley Quinn voice actress tied the knot with former tennis pro, Ryan Sweeting, on New Year’s Eve in December 2013, three months after getting engaged.
The couple separated 21 months later in September 2015 and their divorce was finalised eight months after that. In November 2015, she covered up her wedding tattoo with a moth.
“Note to self – do not mark your body with any future wedding dates. #under30mistakes #donttakeyourselftooseriouslykids,” she wrote via Instagram at the time.
“The deep, meaningful, larger than life meaning behind this beautiful piece of ink, is….. It covered the last one.”
After the divorce announcement, Cuoco dropped her estranged husband’s surname and deleted all photos of him from her social media accounts. In turn, Sweeting requested spousal support, even though they signed a prenup.
In Jessica Wendloff’s new book The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series, Cuoco opened up about how filming the show was “a really wonderful escape” as she dealt with the end of her marriage to Sweeting.
“I was in a scene in the comic book store, wearing a purple sweater, and sitting on the couch between Jim [Parsons] and Johnny [Galecki], while Simon [Helberg] and Kunal [Nayyar] were singing this ridiculous song in their little band,” she recalled. “And I am hysterically laughing. Genuinely. And they used it.”
That scene was for episode ‘The 2003 Approximation’ and, one month before it aired in October 2015, Cuoco was on set and realised news of her divorce was about to break.
“Simon and Kunal had me laughing so hard that tears were coming down my face as they were performing this song, and I just got to sit there and watch them as Penny, but it was also me,” she said, per the book.
“And it just took me totally out of what was going on in my personal life. And everyone [in the cast] knew what was going on with me and they were very protective.”
Paul Blackthorne
Three months after her split from Sweeting, Cuoco moved on with Arrow star Paul Blackthorne.
“It’s new, but she’s really excited about it,” a source told Us Weekly at the time, adding, “Kaley’s doing great post-divorce.” They broke up in early 2016.
Karl Cook
Cuoco met equestrian Karl Cook at a horse show in 2016 and got engaged the following December.
The pair tied the knot in June 2018 in Rancho Santa Fe, California.
Three years later, the duo announced their split, confirming the news in a joint statement in September 2021.
“Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realised that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions,” they said.
“We have both shared so much of our journey publicly so while we would prefer to keep this aspect of our personal life private, we wanted to be forthcoming in our truth together. There is no anger or animosity, quite the contrary.
“We have made this decision together through an immense amount of respect and consideration for one another and request that you do the same in understanding that we will not be sharing any additional details or commenting further.”
According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Cuoco cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for her divorce from Cook.
An insider told the publication the Flight Attendant actress had an “ironclad prenup in place”. Cook also submitted a petition to request “miscellaneous jewellery and other personal effects” be returned to him following the split.
Meanwhile, insiders also allege the pair are on “good terms” despite the drawn-out process of finalising paperwork.
“It could take months to be finalised, but it wouldn’t be because of any fighting whatsoever, it would just be because of the process taking time,” a source said.
In April, however, Cuoco famously told Glamour that she would “never get married again” after her divorce experience with ex-husband Karl Cook.
“I would love to have a long-lasting relationship or a partnership,” she told the magazine. “But I will never get married again. Absolutely not. You can literally put that on the cover.”
Tom Pelphrey
Cuoco is now engaged to Ozark actor Tom Pelphrey.
The couple have been dating since 2022, and welcomed a daughter, Matilda, in 2023.
She announced their engagement this week on her Instagram stories, showing off her diamond ring and writing: “Amazing weekend.”
Cuoco she told USA Today it was “love at first sight” for her when they first met.
