Kaley Cuoco is preparing for a big change — and her 2-year-old daughter Matilda “Tildy” is holding up better than she is! The Big Bang Theory alum revealed a “bittersweet” life update that will affect her, her fiancé Tom Pelphrey, and their daughter, and we can only imagine the struggle!
Dressed in adorable pink Bluey pajamas and holding a sippy cup in her mouth, Tildy helps her mama pack a suitcase in the video on Cuoco’s Instagram story on Thursday. But Cuoco isn’t just going on an overnight trip. She’s heading oversees for a while for her next project — filming Vanished in France alongside Sam Claflin — and won’t be with Tildy for a while.
“Life update,” she wrote. “I leave in 2 weeks for my next job overseas!”
In her update, the Based on a True Story star shared that she and her actor fiancé “haven’t worked in months” in order to maximize their time with their only child. She said this decision enabled them “to spend an amazing amount of time with Tildy.”
All good things must come to an end, and now it’s time for Cuoco to return to work. “[Acting] is something I love but it feels so different now,” Cuoco wrote. “I want Matilda to see me working knowing I do all this for her future but also for me! It’s important she sees that.”
“So it’s bittersweet,” Cuoco continued, “but I keep telling her no matter what, mama and dada always come back! She has never been scared when Tom or I leave and I’m very proud of that ❤️.”
Aww, how sweet is that? I used to tell my kids that “Mommy always comes back” when I dropped them off at daycare, and it’s super sweet that Cuoco is telling her daughter the same thing. And one day, she’ll grow up and realize how amazing her mom is and hopefully feel inspired to follow her career as well.
In her message, Cuoco praised her fiancé as well. “Also grateful for my partner @tommypelphrey for enabling me and our family to make this work in the best possible way 🌹”
On Wednesday, The Flight Attendant star mentioned another big change in the family: they welcomed a pet turtle! She shared a video on her story of the new addition to the farm, writing, “We adopted a tortoise and I truly couldn’t love her more. Murtle the turtle!”
The turtle walks toward the camera, showing off its new look. “She has red lips from the strawberries she just ate lol,” Cuoco wrote. She also shared a photo of a pony, a sheep, a pig, and other animals gathered around the turtle. “Everyone is a little overly interested in our newest lifer,” Cuoco captioned the cute snap. So cute!
Last month, Cuoco marked Tildy’s 2nd birthday with a heartwarming tribute. “Matilda , you are the light of our lives!” she wrote in part. “The joy and huge smile you bring to everyone truly beams and is a gift to us all🎁”
“mama and dada love you so much to infinity and beyond! 💫,” she added.
Pelphrey shared his own birthday message. “Happy 2nd birthday Matilda!! So grateful today for all of the incredible people that surround your life… all of the people who show up with love, laughter, kindness, joy, and encouragement.”
He continued, “So grateful for your incredible mom. You make every part of my life better. Even drinking protein shakes. 🙌🤍🙌🤍🙌🤍🙌🤍🙌🤍🙌🤍🙌”
