Julian McMahon Passes at 56 — A Look Back at His Most Unforgettable Performances

Actor Julian McMahon, celebrated for his roles in Nip/Tuck and the Fantastic Four films, passed away at the age of 56 after a prolonged battle with cancer. His wife, Kelly Paniagua, confirmed the news of his demise. In a statement shared with the media on Friday, July 4, she said, “With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.”

“Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible,” she told Deadline. Further, asking for privacy during this difficult phase of their lives, she added, “We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories.”

Born to the former Australian Prime Minister, Sir William McMahon, and his wife, Sonia Rachel Hopkins, Julian made his debut in the entertainment industry in the 1980s. His first major role came with the Australian television soap opera The Power, The Passion, which premiered in 1989. And then, he joined the cast of Home and Away. His big Hollywood break came in 1993 with the role of Ian Rain in the soap opera Another World. To date, Julian is best known for his work in Nip/Tuck, Charmed, FBI: Most Wanted and Fantastic Four films.
