Jonathan Bailey Juggled 3 Drastically Different Roles in 32 Nonstop Days of Filming

In what can only be described as a herculean feat of acting and endurance, Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey recently revealed that he managed to film three vastly different projects — Wicked, Fellow Travelers, and Bridgerton — all within the same intense stretch of time. Over the course of 32 consecutive days without a single break, Bailey embodied characters who differed wildly in hairstyle, voice, time period, and even sexual orientation.

Speaking about the experience, Bailey admitted it was a logistical and physical challenge like no other. At one point, he filmed Fellow Travelers, then immediately headed to the airport, catching a red-eye flight in order to shoot scenes for Bridgerton. After wrapping on set, he then transitioned to Wicked, where he dove into rigorous choreography sessions. “There were days I was flying back and forth up to four times,” he shared. “I’d wrap one character, sleep on a plane, land, and wake up as someone entirely different — sometimes in a different century.”

Despite the demanding schedule and the emotional and physical toll it could have taken, Bailey credits the transformative nature of each role for keeping him energized. “Each character was so distinct, so far from the others, that it almost gave me permission to reset my mind completely,” he said.

With Fellow Travelers showcasing his dramatic depth, Bridgerton returning him to Regency-era romance, and Wicked testing his musical and movement skills, Bailey’s ability to shift between genres is fast becoming a hallmark of his rising stardom.
