Fans want Mark to follow in Gerry Turner’s footsteps
BACHELOR Nation has found another possible candidate to be the next Golden Bachelor.
During Monday’s episode, Joey, 28, visited the hometowns of his final four women: Kelsey Anderson, Daisy Kent, Maria Georgas, and Rachel Nance, to visit their families and sightsee.
The first family Joey got to meet was Kelsey Anderson’s down in New Orleans, Louisiana.
During his visit, Joey had some serious conversations with Kelsey’s brother, Matthew, sister, Taylor, and father, Mark regarding his intentions with Kelsey.
He also got to see some childhood photos and even pictures of Kelsey’s late mother, Denise, who died of cancer in 2018.
By the end of the episode, Kelsey is one of the three women moving forward to next week.
However, many Bachelor viewers couldn’t keep their eyes off Mark, taking to X, formerly Twitter, to swoon over him.
“Yall make Kelsey’s dad the next Golden Bachelor, that man is fine,” one wrote while also sharing a gif that said, “I need to lie down.”
Another posted, “Oh come on… producers are definitely eyeing up Mark for season 2 of Golden Bachelor like [be for real].”
“Mark for Golden Bachelor, I had to say it,” expressed a third.
A fourth exclaimed, “Gerry walked so Mark could run.”
Fans also gushed over how Mark handled speaking with Joey for the first time, as well as his daughter.
But before fans get another Golden Bachelor season, the Golden Bachelorette has to have her time to shine.
According to a casting agent, the first Golden Bachelorette has been cast, and fans have their predictions on who it might be.
Fans have previously guessed numerous A-list stars who could be the lead for the spin-off’s first season.
Producers are closer to revealing who was chosen as it was revealed one lucky lady was hired for the job.
It happened on an episode of the Playing the Field: A Bachelor Podcast with Ryan Field, a sports anchor at ABC7 Eyewitness News in New York.
Casting agent Jacqui Pitman joined the podcast to hint at what’s to come for the upcoming Golden Bachelorette.
“I can tell you nothing,” Jacqui teased. “But she’s amazing. I can’t tell you anything. Not until they announce who she is.”
After the interview was shared on an online forum, fans shared their predictions about who should be the lead.
“Omg but Susan Lucci would be epic! I grew up watching her on All My Children haha,” one person suggested in the comments.
“Hoping it’s Susan!” echoed another, and a third agreed, “It better be Susan.”
Last month, ABC producers announced Susan, 77, was at the top of their list to be the Golden Bachelorette.
“ABC sees Lucci as the perfect candidate because of her age appropriateness and the widely known narrative about losing her longtime spouse,” a source told the National Enquirer, per Radar.
“Her personal journey is a compelling storyline that will resonate with audiences, making the widow’s quest for love heart-warming to watch,” they added.
“Who doesn’t want to see Susan find love again?” the insider noted.
The actress’s husband, Helmut Huber, died in March 2022 after 53 years of marriage.
They shared two children: Liza and Andreas Huber.
Fans had previously called for Martha Stewart, 82, and Kathie Lee Gifford, 70, to take on the role.
Production for the Golden Bachelorette is set to begin “in the summer of 2024,” according to the casting website.
