Joan Vassos is about to begin her journey to find her “forever person” as the leading lady of The Golden Bachelorette – which premieres on Wednesday, September 18 at 8pm ET/PT on ABC – and she has already teased that her love story is far from traditional.
In an exclusive interview with People, Joan confirmed that while she would love to have a ring on her finger by finale night, a proposal is not the most important part of her Golden Bachelorette experience.
Given the fact that The Bachelor and The Bachelorette almost always end in an engagement — for better or worse — this is as unconventional as can be …
“I said all along I didn’t need to leave engaged,” Joan prefaced prior to delving into the details:
“My goal was to leave in a committed relationship. I wanted to have somebody I saw a future with and that we wanted to see how it works in the real world outside of the Bachelor bubble.
“I didn’t want to go through all of this and be at the same place I was when I came to the mansion.”
In this interview, Joan could neither confirm nor deny whether she ended up engaged.
But she did tease that “the final result was exactly what it was supposed to be”:
“The journey was wonderful for me, and I ended up being exactly where I think I should be. I learned so much about myself.
“The journey was very revealing, and it was joyful, it was exhausting. I can’t imagine my life now without having gone through this.
“I am such a happier person at the end of this journey than I was before I went on it.”
Although she described her stint on the show as “exhausting,” it sounded like Joan managed to find love in the end, despite any trials and tribulations which may have occurred — but the details of her journey remain undisclosed.
How Does The Golden Bachelorette End?
Fortunately, Bachelor Nation blogger Reality Steve has shared what he knows about The Golden Bachelorette with reality television lovers.
And Steve revealed that Joan undoubtedly left the show “in love”:
If you are wondering with whom she found romance, the final four men on the soon-to-be successful show are as follows:
- Charles “Chock” Chapple, a 60-year-old insurance executive from Wichita, Kansas;
- Guy Gansert, a 66-year-old emergency room doctor from Reno, Nevada:
- Jordan Heller, a 61-year-old sales manager from Riverwoods, Illinois:
- Pascal Ibgui, a 69-year-old salon owner from Glencoe, Illinois.
According to Steve, Jordan will be eliminated after his hometown date, and Chock will be eliminated after his overnight date, leaving Guy and Pascal as the final two.
It is unclear how the final few days of The Golden Bachelorette will unfold, but Joan allegedly found the man that she had been seeking in the one and only Guy Gansert on finale night.
However, whether an engagement occurred remains unclear, leaving fans to wait until the finale rolls around.
To see how the love story between Joan and Guy unfolds, brand-new episodes of The Golden Bachelorette drop on Wednesdays via ABC, beginning with its highly-anticipated premiere on September 18.
