Since The Golden Bachelorette finale aired in November 2024, fans have been eager for updates on Joan Vassos and her fiancé, Chock Chapple. The couple, who became engaged during their romantic trip to Tahiti in July 2024, are now ready to take their relationship to the next level—by moving in together! But they’re not settling down in Kansas or Maryland, as many expected. Instead, Joan and Chock are setting their sights on New York City.
In a recent social media post, the couple shared that they are actively searching for a home in the Big Apple and hope to close on a place before the end of 2024. To help them navigate this exciting step, Joan and Chock enlisted a real estate agent and spent time visiting over 20 locations around Manhattan. During their trip, they explored various neighborhoods, including the Upper East Side, Upper West Side, and Tribeca. Ultimately, they seem to have their eyes set on Soho, a vibrant area of Manhattan known for its trendy atmosphere and artistic flair.
While this may seem like a big leap for the couple, it makes sense when you hear their reasoning. Chock, who hails from Kansas, revealed in an interview with Swooon that he had always dreamed of spending time in the city during his younger years but never had the chance. Now, in this new chapter of their lives, he and Joan are excited to experience NYC together. “At this point in our lives, we can do it,” Chock shared, adding that they plan to give the city life a shot for a couple of years.
Despite their big move to NYC, Joan and Chock aren’t ready to leave their roots behind. They plan to keep their homes in Kansas and Maryland as places to visit family and friends. New York City, however, will be their base for private couple time. “Being in Kansas and Maryland is about being with family and friends, but when we want to have couple time, I think it will probably be New York City,” Joan explained.
Joan, a private school administrator, and Chock, an insurance executive, have certainly kept their romance under wraps during the filming of The Golden Bachelorette. After the show wrapped, the couple was living together in a “Happy Couple” house in Los Angeles, keeping their relationship private until the show aired. Now, as they begin this exciting new chapter in New York City, they’re ready to embrace their new life together in the public eye.
Whether this big move to the city will be the start of a new chapter in their love story or a temporary adventure remains to be seen. But for now, Joan and Chock are focusing on having fun, enjoying life, and making the most of this exciting time in their relationship.
