Jim Parsons Says a ‘Big Bang Theory’ Reboot Isn’t on His Radar md14

More than six years after The Big Bang Theory wrapped its historic 12-season run, Jim Parsons is addressing the question fans keep asking: could a reboot ever happen? The answer, for now, is a firm no.

Speaking exclusively to Us Weekly at the American Ballet Theatre’s 2025 Fall Gala, Parsons admitted he “can’t imagine” returning to the sitcom that made him a household name. While he didn’t dismiss the idea entirely, the four-time Emmy winner made it clear a revival isn’t something he sees in his future.

Still, Parsons reflected fondly on the show’s early days, recalling how a writers’ strike during season one nearly derailed the series. Instead, reruns helped build momentum, turning the show into a cultural phenomenon.

Since the 2019 finale, the franchise has lived on through Young Sheldon and Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage. But when it comes to revisiting Sheldon Cooper, Parsons seems content letting the legacy stand exactly as it is.
