Jim Parsons On Reprising Role In The Big Bang Theory Spinoff Series: Call It Lightning In Bottle…

Emmy Award-winning actor Jim Parsons revealed whether he would want to come back to play Sheldon Cooper on Max’s The Big Bang Theory spinoff series. The actor first played the Nobel Prize winning physicist 17 years ago.

Last year, it was revealed that HBO and Max were developing a spinoff series of The Big Bang Theory. Recently, it was announced that the series has moved ahead, casting Brian Posehn, Lauren Lapkus, and Kevin Sussman, indicating the show will revolve around the comic book store that the gang frequented. But will the store’s most dedicated visitor be stopping by? Jim Parsons, who played Sheldon Cooper, had this to say about returning to the Comic Center of Pasadena as a cameo. Read on!

Jim Parsons to return as Sheldon Cooper?

The actor, who is currently acting in Our Town on Broadway, appeared on Who’s Talking To Chris Wallace? and hinted he might need a break from Sheldon Cooper. He shared, “As we sit here now, no, but I also would never say never to anything, because life just changes so much.”

Parsons added, “You know, one of the things is that it was so special as what it was as what it is. And they call it lightning in a bottle for a reason, and you can be certain it wouldn’t be that. And so why would we be doing it? I don’t know that that’s how I feel on that right now. But like I say, God willing, life is very long.”

Sussman, Posehn and Lapkus are likely to return as characters Stuart Bloom, Bert Kibbler and Denise. However, the streamer hasn’t officially greenlit the series.

The Big Bang Theory spinoffs

If this latest series moves forward, it will become the fourth show in The Big Bang Theory universe. Parsons last appeared as Sheldon Cooper on the first spinoff Young Sheldon in May. The series, starring Iain Armitage ended its seventh season with the character going off to college. Another spinoff of Young Sheldon titled Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, with Montana Jordan and Emily Osment, is set to premiere on October 17.
