Long before superhero cameos became career staples, The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons quietly dipped a toe into the Marvel Universe—an appearance even many hardcore fans missed. While best known for his Emmy-winning role as Sheldon Cooper, Parsons lent his voice to Marvel animation in The Super Hero Squad Show, a kid-friendly, self-aware parody that aired from 2009 to 2011.
Parsons appeared in just one episode, voicing the villain Nightmare in Season 2’s “Blind Rage Knows No Color!” Rather than the terrifying demon familiar from Marvel comics, this version of Nightmare was reimagined as a pouty, melodramatic imp with a fondness for cheese—perfectly suited to Parsons’ comedic strengths. In the episode, Nightmare reluctantly teams up with the Avengers after Thanos manipulates the Hulk’s dreams using the Mind Stone.
