Jesse Spencer Does Flying Push-Ups to Queen

Jesse Spencer Does Flying Push-Ups to Queen
If there’s one thing we’ve learned lately, it’s that our favorite One Chicago stars love to dance!

In newly unearthed behind-the-scenes footage from Chicago Fire, Christian Stolte, Christopher Herrmann, and other current and former cast members dazzled us with their dance moves to Queen’s classic “Under Pressure.” But it was Jesse Spencer who impressed us the most with moves that no one had ever seen before!

Don’t believe us?

Watch the Chicago Fire Crew dance it out here.

Spencer did a jumping push-up, a move that would be a crowd-pleaser, whether it’s on the dance floor or on the streets of the Windy City.

(If you ask us, adding a starfish-like flying jump to a few push-ups is *chef’s kiss*. It’s a workout and a killer dance move!) While Spencer’s moves may seem American to the naked eye, he gets all of his dancing talent from his Australian roots. That’s right, the 45-year-old was born in Melbourne, which means even the flawless American accent fans hear him with on Chicago Fire is just another example of his talent.

In fact, in a March 2021 interview with Hollywood Outbreak, Spencer admitted that he sometimes gets confused when it comes to putting his multilingual talents into practice.

“When I’m on the phone, I usually [use] my American accent because if I say numbers or letters, it doesn’t work,” he explained. “I need subtitles! I’ll say [an American accent] to make it clearer, I think. But I forget phrases, you forget idioms and stuff [in Australia]. I’ll go back to Australia and I’m like, ‘Oh, I forgot that phrase!’ Then I go back [to the US] and within two weeks, I’ve forgotten everything again.”

It’s officially time to mark your calendars: Wednesday, September 25 is when One Chicago fans should be sitting on the couch all night!

Chicago Med season 10 premieres at 8/7c, Chicago Fire season 13 premieres at 9/8c, and finally, Chicago P.D. season 12 premieres at 10/9c — all on NBC!

As for what fans should expect from season 13, showrunner Andrea Newman offered a few hints in a May 2024 interview with CBR: “As the show continues to evolve, these characters continue to evolve. There’s a challenge of, ‘What’s the next interesting call?'” Newman explained. “What’s the next little roadblock in their path? And what’s the next step that might highlight a darker side of a character—something that triggers something for them and they have a different kind of evolution? It’s a constant challenge, but in the best way. It’s a gift to have characters that you want to see grow and have unexpected turns.”
