Bachelor Nation host Jesse Palmer revealed a rather surprising celebrity pick for the next installment of The Golden Bachelor.
Palmer, 46, who took over as the permanent host of The Bachelor franchise in 2021, appears on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Wednesday, as this new season of The Bachelor is winding down already.
A sneak peek from the episode reveals that one of Hudson’s guests from earlier this month threw his hat in the ring for The Golden Bachelor, and Palmer thinks he’d be ‘amazing.’
He also chimed in on the viability of a number of single celebrity possibilities for Bachelor Nation, including Kim Kardashian… though he doesn’t think she would work, for some surprising reasons.
He also breaks down whether or not single celebs like Michael B. Jordan, Regina Hall and even sports legend Tom Brady could appear on the show.
Who is Palmer’s Golden Bachelor candidate? None other than beloved comedian George Lopez!
Palmer – who was The Bachelor himself in Season 5 back in 2004 – was asked about Lopez saying, ‘I am prepared, if asked, to be the next Golden Bachelor’ on Hudson’s show earlier this month.
The Mexican-American funnyman admitted earlier in the episode that he’s been ‘really terrible in love situations’ before throwing his hat in the ring for The Golden Bachelor.
When Hudson asked what Palmer thought of that idea, he said, ‘I think it would be amazing,’ adding, ‘he would have the best hair of any Bachelor ever.’
The long-haired actor was married once to Ann Serrano from 1993 until their split in 2010, with the divorce finalized in 2011, and the exes sharing 28-year-old daughter Mayan.
Palmer then mentioned Lopez’s hair flip, adding, ‘every rose ceremony, before I would say, “George, this is the final rose,” he would flip the hair before offering. I think it would be amazing. I’m all for that.’
He was then asked about how he thought Kim Kardashian would fare as The Bachelorette, though he didn’t think it would work from a casting standpoint.
‘Obviously, Kim Kardashian would be an amazing Bachelorette. The question though, casting might get tough, though,’ he admitted.
‘I mean, is Kim gonna fall for Kyle, who’s 25, who sells insurance, who likes 10-pin bowling and escape rooms? I don’t know,’ Palmer added.
He admitted Kim would be, ‘tough to cast,’ though he thought that perhaps they could ‘have a crossover of The Bachelor and The Kardashians,’ adding, ‘I think it would be great. I think it would rate really well.’
Kim famously pranked her whole family by pretending that she was cast as The Bachelorette, even getting a Disney executive on board, before revealing it was a prank, back in Season 3 of the Hulu series.
Michael B. Jordan was next, and Palmer said he would be, ‘a security problem because he’s too good looking, and I think this would be the first time where women would be sent home and then sneak out and hide around the mansion to get back in. That’s too much handsome in the mansion.’
Regina Hall was next, who Palmer said would be, ‘amazing,’ but added that he read somewhere that she wanted to be a Catholic nun, which, ‘might not align with what we do on the show,’ but she would be incredible.’
The final single celebrity was Tom Brady, who Palmer said he’d be ‘down for just for the football stories,’ hinting he’d like to do a ‘PG-13 version’ of his roast on the show.
