Jesse Lee Soffer and Tracy Spiridakos have adopted an adorable new puppy, proving again why they’re couple goals! th02

2026 is already shaping up to be an exciting year for former Chicago P.D. favorites Jesse Lee Soffer and Tracy Spiridakos — and not just because of their highly anticipated return to the One Chicago universe. Off-screen, the beloved duo has taken a major step in their personal lives by welcoming an adorable new member into their family: a rescue puppy named Cali.

The exciting news was first revealed on Instagram, where Soffer shared the simple but heartwarming announcement: “We got a puppy!” Spiridakos also introduced fans to Cali in her own post, explaining that the pup had been surrendered to a city shelter in California with a serious degloving injury that left her classified as an at-risk dog in urgent need of medical care.

After learning about Cali through a friend, the pair immediately knew they wanted to adopt her and ensure she received the treatment she desperately needed. However, the process wasn’t easy, as they were not in California at the time and Cali required immediate medical attention. Thankfully, with the help of Ash Tree Ranch Rescue, arrangements were quickly made for Cali to be transported to a veterinary hospital where she underwent surgery before being cared for until Soffer and Spiridakos could bring her home themselves.

Now safely settled in with her new family, Cali appears to be thriving — and fans can’t get enough of the sweet photos showing the tiny pup cuddling up with her new parents.

For longtime followers of the pair, adopting Cali represents more than simply adding a pet to their household. The two first met back in 2017 when Spiridakos joined the cast of Chicago P.D., where their characters quickly became romantically involved on screen. Over time, rumors of an off-screen relationship began to circulate, though both actors chose to keep their private lives largely out of the spotlight for years.

Interest in their relationship only grew stronger after Soffer joined FBI: International, with Spiridakos later joining him overseas — the pair sharing glimpses of their travels together across Europe on social media. Once they eventually made their relationship Instagram official, they began opening up more publicly by posting a series of affectionate snapshots together.

Cali’s arrival comes just over a year after the passing of Spiridakos’ beloved dog Nala, whom she had for 12 years and paid tribute to in January 2025. As many couples know, adopting a dog together is a meaningful milestone — and fans are thrilled to see Soffer and Spiridakos beginning this new chapter with their newest furry family member.
