Jeremy Clarkson brands Kaleb Cooper a ‘silly sod’ over move away from Diddly Squat Farm
Jeremy Clarkson has branded his Clarkson’s Farm co-star Kaleb Cooper a “silly sod”, as the man who had previously never wanted to leave his home town prepares to step away from the farm for a UK-wide tour.
Jeremy Clarkson shared a picture of his younger Clarkson’s Farm co-star Kaleb Cooper looking dazed and dishevelled as he teased that the farm hand was a “silly sod”. In an affectionate post this evening, Jeremy told his 7.4 million Instagram followers: “Wishing this silly sod all the very best this evening as he embarks on his nationwide tour. God speed mate. You’re a rock star.”
Kaleb, who at 25 is almost 40 years younger than Jeremy, had shared with fans last year that he’d never even seen a revolving door before taking a recent trip to London. In a video posted by Jeremy, he was so enthused by the mechanism that he announced he’d like to install “several” of them in his own home.
Meanwhile, the Amazon Prime star previously stated that he had no interest in visiting New York City, because he saw the US city as being “like London, where there are no tractors”. After confessing that he’d barely so much as left his home town, he didn’t initially seem like the most likely candidate for a tour, but he now boasts a book titled Britain According to Kaleb.
He has a series of tour dates planned to promote it, beginning with a three-date extravaganza in Cheltenham which starts tonight. He’ll then continue on to Newcastle, York, Glasgow, Manchester, Belfast, Birmingham and London to name just a few of the cities on his list.
He first unveiled his plans on social media last summer as he admitted, to the surprise of his fans, that he was leaving Diddly Squat Farm behind and “building up the courage to do something very special”. Fast forward a few months and he is ready to take to the road.
Kaleb thanked Jeremy for his shoutout on Instagram this evening, replying in the comments: “Thank you my friend!!!! I can’t wait for you to see the show.”
One fan wrote of the pairing: “At this point Kaleb is more like his son!” while another agreed: “It’s awesome!”
The duo have had their moments, with insulting banter regularly exchanged between the two, although they seem to be firm friends behind the scenes.
The feisty relationship has been well documented, with Jeremy quipping that his side-kick is a mere “tractor driver”, while Kaleb in turn has labelled him a “f***ing idiot”.
