One of the most intriguing storylines in Tracker Season 1 was Colter Shaw’s family history. While fans got to meet both of the main character’s siblings in the first season of the series, it looks like both will be making a big return in Season 2. Tracker Season 2: Justin Hartley Announces Jensen Ackles’ Return Colter Shaw himself, Justin Hartley, who not only stars in Tracker but also serves as an executive producer, recently confirmed that his brother Russell Shaw will be returning to the series for the new season.
Hartley announced that Jensen Ackles will be reprising the role during the Tracker panel at CBS’s 2024 TCA Summer Press Tour on July 13. In fact, Tracker showrunner Elwood Reid also announced that Ackles will be returning for “more than one” show.
Tracker Season 2: Dory Shaw is also returning!
It looks like fans should prepare for more family drama on the show, as Russell isn’t the only Shaw sibling set to return for Season 2 of Tracker. Elwood also confirmed to TV Line that actress Melissa Roxburgh, who plays Colter’s sister, Dory Shaw, will reprise the role next season. Elwood noted during the Tracker panel at CBS’s 2024 TCA Summer Press Tour that the show will “reveal some more things about his sister.”
CBS also recently announced a handful of premiere dates for its fall 2024 broadcast schedule, so fans should mark their calendars for Sunday, October 27, which will be the official start date for Tracker Season 2. Unlike Season 1, however, the show will now air on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET, instead of 9 p.m. ET. It’s important to note that the series will have a special airtime of 8:30 p.m. (ET) for its Season 2 premiere on October 27. Some fans may be a little sad to hear that they’ll have to wait so long in the fall to see the latest installment of Tracker; however, it seems CBS is hoping to create fewer repeat episodes in its 2024-2025 schedule, and therefore have fewer interruptions.
