Jennifer Aniston’s Terror Was No Act in 1993’s Leprechaun — Costar Spills Behind-the-Scenes Truth

While Warwick Davis has some fond memories of acting alongside Jennifer Aniston on the set of Leprechaun in 1993, he thinks that Aniston’s memories may be a little different.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly at the opening of Universal Epic Universe in Orlando, Fla., on Wednesday, May 21, the Harry Potter alumnus, 55, reflected on his role in the ’90s horror movie in which he starred as an evil leprechaun. Aniston, now 56, played a girl trying to stop his murderous rampage after his gold coins were stolen.

“[Aniston] was a great actress, but whether the fear on her face was real …” Warwick told the outlet. “I think it was at times, because it was pretty intense, that makeup and the stuff we were having to do. Having me in that getup with the nails and everything, chasing her. It’s got to have been pretty terrifying.”

Davis added to EW that he wasn’t shocked at all to see Aniston’s success on Friends the following year.

“I remember Jennifer, because I thought, ‘Oh, she’s definitely got something special about her.’ You could tell she was gonna become a big star one day,” he shared. “She had that quality about her, that energetic performance.”

Warwick Davis reveals rare detail about Jennifer Aniston in 'Leprechaun'

Aniston herself has spoken about her role in the horror flick in the past, sharing in 2019 that her now-ex-husband Justin Theroux had her take a walk down memory lane when they started dating by together watching Leprechaun, her first feature film.

“I really thought I arrived when I did Leprechaun,” Aniston said during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show. “It was with Warwick Davis, the guy from Willow was in it. It was a big deal!”

“I watched it like, eight years ago with our mutual friend Justin Theroux for s—- and giggles,” she explained. “We were dating. It was one of those things when I tried to get that remote out of his hand and there was just no having it. He was like, ‘No, no, no, no, this is happening.’ I just kept walking in and out, cringing.”

The actress then called it a “cult classic” and shared that she’s still proud of the movie.

“I really did think it was an amazing thing that I was in a movie,” Aniston said.
