Jason George has shared interesting things about his and his Grey’s Anatomy colleagues’ reactions when Denzel Washington directed an episode of the series.
Grey’s Anatomy, created by Shonda Rhimes, is the longest-running American medical drama, first airing in 2005 and continuing to attract a large number of viewers over the years.
In an interview with the New York Post, Jason George – who plays Dr. Ben Warren on the show – recalled the special feeling when Oscar-winning star Denzel Washington appeared on set to direct the episode. He said: “It was a great episode, everyone was aware that they had to perform at their best.” The 35-year-old actor said that although the actors always work professionally, when Denzel Washington is behind the camera, everyone is really more prepared and meticulous.
Jason George, who also stars in Station 19, also humorously recalled how the actresses took extra care with their outfits in the episode, joking: “I was like, ‘Oh, they don’t normally dress like this for us!'”
Jason also expressed his wish to see Denzel Washington wearing scrubs – the familiar doctor’s outfit in the film – on screen one day. “It may never happen, but I just have to say it. I hope he does it,” he told The Outline.
He also explained the role he envisions for the Gladiator II star in the film: “It’s Denzel, he has to be the ultimate doctor, the kind of guy that everyone is excited to see. He has to be the top expert in his field.”
Currently, Grey’s Anatomy has been renewed for a 22nd season, expected to air in the fall of 2025, promising to continue to bring many interesting stories and interesting surprises to fans.
