It’s HappeningEverything We Know So Far About the Upcoming ‘After’ Sequel, ‘After We Collided’

The highly anticipated sequel to After — the Harry Styles-inspired flick which theaters back in April 2019 — starring Hero Fiennes-Tiffin and Josephine Langford is almost here! Called After We Collided, the new flick, which is based on a One Direction fan fiction written by Anna Todd, is the next chapter in Hardin and Tessa’s love story.

Ahead of the film’s release, the stars have opened up about what it was like filming After We Collided‘s seriously steamy intimate scenes together.

“I mean I don’t think it was ever tough. It’s a job. We’re professionals, you know what you signed up for. You turn up and do your job,” Hero told TooFab in October 2020. “But, 100 percent, this goes for all scenes, I think when you get to know the whole crew, and the whole cast, and we worked together before every scene becomes easier because you don’t have to break that ice anymore.”

After We Collided Sequel

Josephine added, “I think you always find something new that’s nerve-racking, or at least me personally.”

When it was first announced in May 2019 that a second After film was in the works, Anna told Anna told Deadline, “I am beyond excited to begin the sequel to After. The fans made the first film a worldwide success and we are ready to bring them more of Hardin and Tessa in the sequel. This next film will truly capture the heart and feel of the books.”

OK, so when will the second movie hit theaters and what will it be about? Will the original cast all return for the sequel and will there be any new stars? Who’s going to star in ‘After We Collided?’
According to Deadline, both Josephine and Hero are set to reprise their roles in the second movie. And get this, you guys — Dylan Sprouse revealed in August 2019 that he’s joining the already-epic cast! OMG. The Suite Life of Zack and Cody actor will be playing Trevor, or better known as “F**king Trevor.” For those of you who read the books, you probably already know that Trevor is a coworker of Tessa’s, who starts to develop feelings for her.

“I’m very excited to announce to you that I will be playing Trevor in After We Collided,” he said in a video posted to After‘s official Instagram account. “I cannot wait to bring ‘F**king Trevor’ to life for you, and I’m excited for you all to see the finished content. Can’t wait to start filming.”

He also explained why he chose the role during another Instagram video.

“First and foremost, he’s incredibly sexy. That’s number one on the list,” he said. “Trevor was a role that I had never played before and I generally like taking roles that force me to act a different way or challenge me to act like something I’m not in my daily life. That was the biggest reason. Also after talking to the cast and crew, I knew we’d have a good working environment.”

Candice King, who we all know and love from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, was also cast in the movie! She’s going to play Kim Vance, one of Tessa’s friends. Charlie Weber, Louise Lombard, Karimah Westbrook, Rob Estes and Max Ragone will also appear in the flick. Wow, talk about a dream team!

Dylan Sprouse Is Writing His Own Comic Book Series, Here’s What You Need To Know

What can fans expect from Dylan Sprouse’s character?
“Trevor represents values and aspects that Hardin is very much not. This is upward mobility, oriented work man and he’s also kind of got his ducks in a row. He’s really focused on work and he’s succeeding,” Dylan told iHollywoodTV in an October 2020 interview. “He comes from nothing really and that’s kind of his future. He’s got it all together. In a lot of ways, he represents what Hardin is not. I’ve been manifesting that in a lot of different ways in the scenes that we’ve shot. Particularly, you’ll see that he’s got a sharp wit and that manifests in a bit of dark humor, which is fun.”

The actor also opened up about joining the film during an October 2020 interview with Entertainment Tonight.

“Everyone was really inviting and welcoming, and the fanbase is rabid because they’re really passionate about it, which was cool to see,” he dished. “It’s nice to step into a series or a project where people are really impassioned to like it so much, and so for me it was nice. It was easy. They already mentioned the ice had already been broken, so I just kind of walked onto set and everyone was enjoying themselves and knew each other and it made for a really good filming environment.”

What will ‘After We Collided’ be about?
Since it’s based off a book, we can make some assumptions about what will go down. Here’s the synopsis of the second book:

“Tessa has everything to lose. Hardin has nothing to lose… except her. After We Collided… Life will never be the same.

After a tumultuous beginning to their relationship, Tessa and Hardin were on the path to making things work. Tessa knew Hardin could be cruel, but when a bombshell revelation is dropped about the origins of their relationship — and Hardin’s mysterious past — Tessa is beside herself. Hardin will always be… Hardin. But is he really the deep, thoughtful guy Tessa fell madly in love with despite his angry exterior — or has he been a stranger all along? She wishes she could walk away. It’s just not that easy.

Hardin knows he made a mistake, possibly the biggest one of his life. He’s not going down without a fight. But can he change? Will he change… for love?”

OMG. How juicy does that sound?! Plus, the cast dished on what you can expect from the sequel while speaking to Entertainment Tonight, and boy, does it sound like it’s going to be intense!

“[Fans] better strap in. A lot of them kind of wanted [it to be darker], so hopefully they’ll be presently surprised by the turning up of the dial,” Hero said, with Josephine adding that fans should expect a major love triangle.

“Having a love triangle dynamic is always fun. Overwhelming but fun. I think it added a little something-something to the film,” she said.

The actress also revealed, “Tessa is different in this film. She’s at a different part in her life.”
