Is there going to be a Queen Charlotte season 2?
While fans wait for the second half of Bridgerton season 3, some may be turning to the show’s hit spinoff Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story to fill the void.
The series, which first debuted on Netflix last year, follows a young Queen Charlotte as she is forced into an arranged marriage to the King of England, while also exploring King George’s struggles with mental health.
It seems like Bridgerton is more popular than ever right now, so fans may be wondering if the spinoff will return as well — the more Bridgerton, the merrier!
The prequel is billed as a Limited Series, but Rhimes explained in a previous interview that she wouldn’t rule out the possibility of a second season.
“There’s been questions, but I haven’t talked about that yet,” she explained to Entertainment Weekly. “I could live with Charlotte and George forever, but we told a very specific story that I think is a complete story about this complicated, imperfect love. But I don’t rule anything out because I never know.”
Meanwhile, in April 2024, Rhimes was asked about the possibility of a second season again in an interview with Variety, saying, “I feel like I’m in a conversation with Netflix! They ask me this question all the time! I’m still trying to figure it out. I don’t want to tell a story that doesn’t need to be told—you know what I mean? We know from the later timeline that Charlotte was successful in keeping their power intact, but how that plays out could be the subject of a sequel.
