One Chicago is returning to screens on NBC One Chicago is returning to screens on Wednesday, September 26, but there will be some big changes for fans.
In Chicago Med Dominic Rains left the series as Dr. Crockett Marcel – it’s unclear whether he’ll return in season 10 to wrap up the character’s storyline – while in PD Tracy Spiridakos left the show as Hailey Upton after six seasons as a series regular.
Meanwhile, Chicago Fire saw a number of regulars leave the series last season, including Alberto Rosende as Blake Gallo, Rome Flynn, who only appeared in six episodes, and Eamonn Walker, who has been with the series since its first episodes.
However, there are plenty of new names that will bring in brand new characters that Chi-hards are sure to love, so let’s take a look at who we can expect… Jake Lockett, as Firefighter Sam Carver, has been promoted to a series regular for season 13. He first joined the show in season 11, where it was revealed that he was at the Academy with Lieutenant Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) and she didn’t think he was “51 material”.
However, he proved her wrong, and eventually opened up about his past, after finding himself in prison, revealing that he had been in an emotionally abusive relationship with his brother.
In season 12, he had a romantic relationship with paramedic Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) but by the end of the season, his temper had resurfaced when he got into a fight with an abusive father while on call.
He then decides to take a leave of absence after confessing his love to Violet and she rejects him.
Romantic comedy king Dermot Mulroney will make his Chicago Fire debut in the first episode of season 13.
He will play the new Battalion Chief, Dom Pascal after 51 says goodbye to their beloved Battalion Chief Wallace Boden.
Very few details are known about who Dom is as a man, but it is believed that he has returned to Chicago after a decade in Miami and has a very different leadership style than Boden.
His estranged wife Monica will also be a recurring character.
KaDee Strickland has been brought on board in a recurring role as Monica Pascal, the estranged wife of the new Battalion Chief.
Jocelyn Hudon joined the series in season 12 as Lyla Novak, a paramedic who likes to hang around different fire stations.
She’s stuck with Violet, though, and reluctantly accepted a full-time role on Ambulance 61 in season 12. Former Southland and Animal Kingdom actor Shawn Hatosy has been cast in the recurring role of Deputy Chief Charlie Reid, and will bring a “new dynamic” to the team.
“I think he sees a lot of himself in Voight [Sergeant Hank Voight, played by Jason Beghe] and he resonates quite a bit with Voight and Voight’s philosophy as a cop, and they have a really interesting relationship that will grow over the season,” showrunner Gwen Sigan told TV Insider.
