Away from the set of Virgin River and her latest Netflix rom-com My Secret Santa, Alexandra Breckenridge is first and foremost a devoted mom to her two children, Jack and Billie, whom she shares with her husband, musician Casey Hooper.
The couple married in 2015 and quickly grew their family. Their son Jack arrived in September 2016, followed by daughter Billie in December 2017. Breckenridge has often spoken about the overwhelming love she felt becoming a mother, calling the experience “the most important thing” in her life.
Despite her Hollywood career, the family chose a quieter life in rural Georgia, where they found the sense of community and slower pace they wanted for their kids.
Breckenridge has shared glimpses of her journey raising Jack—who she calls the “apple of my eye”—from his whirlwind birth to a frightening early health scare that later helped her channel the emotional storyline of Mel’s miscarriage on Virgin River.
With Billie, the actress has been just as open, recalling the joy of learning she was having a girl on her birthday and the memorable moment she attended the 2018 SAG Awards just weeks after giving birth.
Today, Breckenridge describes her bond with both children as “beautiful,” occasionally sharing snapshots of their sweet family life on social media. Despite her busy career, it’s clear her favorite role is the one she plays at home.
