“I love how realistic the show is”: Chuck Lorre’s Young Sheldon Did One Thing Always Better Than The Big Bang Theory and the Most Hated Character of the Show Proves it

Fans appreciate Young Sheldon’s realistic approach to highlight middle-class lifestyle.

Created by the King of Sticoms, Chuck Lorre, both The Big Bang Theory and its prequel spin-off Young Sheldon have become iconic in their own right. However, with the latter finally concluded recently after 7 seasons, fans have started to highlight certain elements that make it superior to the original series.

And one of the aspects that make the show even better than the original is the characters’ wardrobe, which was especially highlighted by one of the most hated characters on the show.

One Detail That Made Young Sheldon Better Than The Big Bang Theory

Chuck Lorre’s sitcom The Big Bang Theory introduced the iconic character of Sheldon Cooper, who returned in a spin-off starring Iain Armitage in the lead role. The spin-off focuses on Sheldon’s upbringing with his less intellectual family in Texas.

The show also features other characters, including Sheldon’s parents and his siblings. However, fans often found his mother, Mary Cooper, to be annoying due to her controlling, self-righteous nature and obsession with her genius son.

However, the character has become notable in highlighting one thing that the show does better than The Big Bang Theory, the authenticity of a middle-class lifestyle, particularly through Mary Cooper’s (Zoe Perry) wardrobe.

Fans on Reddit have discussed how the characters’ repeated outfits contribute to the show’s grounded feel. “I love how realistic the show is,” one Reddit user said highlighting the depiction of characters re-wearing clothes to reflect their middle-class status.

“The wardrobe and seeing the cast in the same outfit multiple times was one of the more realistic aspects of the show,” another user added. While The Big Bang Theory also features characters repeating outfits, it doesn’t match the level of realism achieved by Young Sheldon.

Chuck Lorre Shared Update Regarding The Big Bang Theory Spin-off

Following the success of The Big Bang Theory and its spin-off Young Sheldon, the creators of the show have been planning to further expand the franchise.

A spin-off following George and Mandy is reportedly in the works and the showrunner has recently shared updates regarding a different series in the franchise for a streaming release on Max.

Initially announced a year ago, the showrunner recently confirmed that the spin-off is still in work but is in the very early stages of development. “It’s still in the works, it’s endlessly in the works,” Lorre told Variety before adding, “It’s still prenatal.”

While Lorre confirmed that the series is progressing, he did not provide additional details about the new spin-off, including information about its cast or plot. Fans speculate that the show could potentially follow Kunal Nayyar’s character Raj and his story after the events of The Big Bang Theory.
