Tracker’s third season is being called the most intense yet—but not just on screen. Off camera, the chaos was even more explosive.
Reports now confirm that filming was plagued by internal disputes, most notably between lead star Justin Hartley (Colter Shaw) and newcomer Jess Salgueiro, who plays government agent Renna. Insiders claim Salgueiro was originally cast for just two episodes but was “aggressively pushed” into a major arc by producers—much to Hartley’s frustration.
One anonymous crew member revealed: “Justin felt the core story was being hijacked. He wasn’t quiet about it.” Tensions boiled over on set in a now-infamous shouting match during Episode 7 filming. Production halted for two days. Publicly, everyone stayed quiet—but fans noticed the awkward shift in tone midseason.
That’s not all. Several scenes heavily featured in trailers were completely removed from the final edit. A particularly anticipated moment—Colter finding his childhood home burned down—was mysteriously cut, despite having been shot. Theories suggest this was done to hide continuity errors after rewrites.
Then came the shock: director Ken Olin was temporarily replaced during Episodes 5 and 6, with no official explanation. Cast members were “not informed” until the day of shooting. The replacement director, known for his faster pacing, clashed with the show’s established style—and fans noticed the abrupt change in cinematography.
With rising reports of internal mismanagement, delays, and creative disputes, Tracker Season 3 may be remembered less for its thrilling cases—and more for the spiraling tension that nearly derailed it behind the scenes.
