Hetty’s Ghostly Powers Reveal a Secret Redemption Arc—And We’re Here for It!

After a long wait, Ghosts finally reveals Hetty’s powers, and it isn’t lost on me that it makes up for her life’s biggest heartbreak. Similar to its UK counterpart, the spirits in the Woodstone Mansion are given their respective abilities. While some have long known theirs, such as Trevor being able to physically touch things if he fully concentrates and Thor playing with electricity, others have had to wait to discover theirs. Hetty, for example, has had to wait a long time to discover her powers, to the point that the other spirits stopped discussing theirs in front of her.

The hierarchy of the powers of the Woodstone Mansion ghosts changes from time to time. While Flower’s capability to inflict the feeling of being high or Isaac giving a foul odor when walking through a living aren’t technically cool, they serve their own purpose from time to time. Objectively, however, Pete’s ability to travel beyond the invisible limit of the mansion’s grounds and Sass’ ability to enter people’s dreams are the show’s best ones. However, Hetty’s newly discovered ability is arguably not only enviable, it also has a deeper meaning that relates to the life she lived.
