The Rookie on ABC, the popular police procedural starring Nathan Fillion, has a dedicated fan following. By achieving a balance between its comedic and dramatic elements, The Rookie has has captivated audiences since it debuted in 2018. After 6 seasons, the show is still going strong (which is fortunately, considering the latest episode left things on a cliffhanger). Previously, The Rookie season 7 had only 10 episodes. This was due to production constraints caused by the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes in 2023. Fortunately, season 7 is expected to last for 18 episodes. The season began filming in late June 2024, with many of the stars posting behind-the-scenes pics on social media.

Finally, another exciting bit of potential casting information was revealed by Fillion during San Diego Comic-Con 2024. It is possible that the stars of the short-lived spinoff, The Rookie: Feds, may appear in The Rookie season 7 as well. These actors include the spinoff’s star, Niecy Nash, and supporting cast members Frankie R. Faison, James Lesure, Britt Robertson and Kevin Zegers.
