Here’s when The Rookie season 7 premiere will air on ABC

The Rookie on ABC, the popular police procedural starring Nathan Fillion, has a dedicated fan following. By achieving a balance between its comedic and dramatic elements, The Rookie has has captivated audiences since it debuted in 2018. After 6 seasons, the show is still going strong (which is fortunately, considering the latest episode left things on a cliffhanger). But when can you expect to catch The Rookie season 7 premiere on ABC?

Previously, The Rookie season 7 had only 10 episodes. This was due to production constraints caused by the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes in 2023. Fortunately, season 7 is expected to last for 18 episodes. The season began filming in late June 2024, with many of the stars posting behind-the-scenes pics on social media.

Finally, another exciting bit of potential casting information was revealed by Fillion during San Diego Comic-Con 2024. It is possible that the stars of the short-lived spinoff, The Rookie: Feds, may appear in The Rookie season 7 as well. These actors include the spinoff’s star, Niecy Nash, and supporting cast members Frankie R. Faison, James Lesure, Britt Robertson and Kevin Zegers.

Fans can expect to see new episodes of The Rookie on ABC beginning in January 2025, with episodes available the next day for streaming on Hulu. Will you be tuning in when the series returns?
