Celebrating more than a decade on the air, Chicago Fire extends its venerable run with the renewal of Chicago P.D. Season 12 and Chicago Med Season 10. Dick Wolf’s first responder series One Chicago has remained a household name, with fans carrying the torch for its flagship series, Chicago Fire, since its debut in 2012. Season 12 has been an exciting ride — we’ve said goodbye to some of Firehouse 51’s beloved first responders, including Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) and Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende). With all those tearful goodbyes, fans are welcoming a new era of Chicago Fire.

Chicago Fire premieres September 25 on NBC and will air in its usual time slot: Wednesdays at 9/8c “This is home,” Kinney told TODAY while showing her love for Chicago in honor of Fire’s 10th anniversary. “Times have changed, the city has changed, and people have grown up… The city has been good to me. I’ve learned that through my work.”

In honor of his emotional departure in Season 12, Killmer reminisced about the Chicago Fire cast’s endless laughs on set. “There’s a core principle of humor and camaraderie that continues to carry [us] forward; I think that’s what’s really special about our show in particular,” Killmer told NBC Insider in 2024, adding that One Chicago creator Dick Wolf “was very intentional about making sure that the people who worked on our show…had a sense of humor.”
