‘Hell’s Kitchen’ TV show moving to CT, Gordon Ramsay to film in new studio at Foxwoods

Connecticut residents will notice a familiar backdrop for the next two seasons of Gordon Ramsay’s “Hell’s Kitchen,” as the popular show moves to Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, ITV America announced in a news release.

ITV America will film seasons 23 and 24 of Ramsay’s culinary competition series at the resort casino, where a new set has been custom-built on the property for the first time in series history, according to the release.

The studio, currently under construction, will provide “a dynamic backdrop for the show’s intense culinary battles,” with Foxwoods’ amenities prominently showcased, according to the release. It’s scheduled for completion at the end of April.

Ramsay opened his sixth Hell’s Kitchen restaurant in the resort casino’s Grand Pequot Tower on July 15 with a menu featuring his signature dishes of beef Wellington and sticky toffee pudding, as well as steaks, seafood, salads and sides. His other Hell’s Kitchen outposts are in Atlantic City, Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, Miami, southern California and Washington D.C.

“We’re thrilled to welcome the Hell’s Kitchen cast and crew to Foxwoods and are honored to collaborate with ITV America for this pivotal moment in the show’s legacy,” said Jason Guyot, President and CEO of Foxwoods, in the release. “Gordon Ramsay’s fiery star power set against the backdrop of Foxwoods’ stunning property guarantees that the next two seasons of Fox’s show will deliver an unparalleled culinary showdown and viewing experience for ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ fans. We look forward to highlighting Foxwoods as an unrivaled global resort destination for audiences – and travelers – worldwide.”

“When we first approached Foxwoods about the opportunity we knew it would be a challenging deal to put together, but Jason and his team have exceeded expectations as partners,” said ITV America CEO David George in the release. “The space being created is perfect for the needs of Hell’s Kitchen, and we hope it’s just the first of many series we produce at Foxwoods.”

The TV series has been on for 22 seasons, featuring some Connecticut talent over the years. Kevin Cottle, executive chef of Fire at the Ridge in Middlefield, competed in season 6 with Van Hurd, who moved to the Nutmeg State after the show and is now the executive chef of Fire by Forge in Hartford. Morgana Vesey, who was the executive chef at Stonington’s Water Street Cafe, was on season 20 of the spinoff “Hell’s Kitchen Young Guns.”

Filming dates have not been announced.
