As stated, the competition truly kicked off in Episode 2. Following the reveal that the newly formed blue and red teams would be cooking scallop dishes for their first team challenges, Ramsay revealed that the top dish on both teams would receive the coveted punishment pass.
Sous chefs James and Michelle would choose the top three dishes from their respective teams, along with the bottom three. Antonio, Chris, and Jayden of the blue team were chosen as the top by James, and Michelle chose Lisa, Jada, Anaiya, and Cat as the best dishes.
Chris and Anaiya were awarded the punishment passes for their dishes. Following the good news, the bad news was that Cara Marie, Maddy, Chase, and Carlos were chosen at the bottom dishes.
Before a dinner service could happen, Ramsay chose to cut Carlos of Alaska. Based on his poor signature dish and not being able to properly cook scallops, Ramsay chose to cut the young chef.
During dinner service, the red team got off to a great start, sending out appetizers immediately. However, Bradley and Chase of the blue team messed up their first apps. Bradley panicked while Chase could not land flatbreads.
Maddy of the red team produced raw salmon and looked flustered through the dinner service, especially after not being able to repeat back an order three times.
Following multiple mistakes from both sides, Ramsay eventually kicked out the teams and told them to produce two nominees.
Maddy and Cat from the red team, and Chase and Bradley from the blue team, faced elimination. Maddy from New York was cut after attempting to serve raw salmon.
With “Hell’s Kitchen” Episode 3 coming up, Alaska and New York have been eliminated from the Battle of the States.
