Will Colter Shaw have a romantic interest in Tracker Season 2? With newcomer Floriana Lima joining the cast, and her character described as Colter’s longtime lover, the show could set up a love triangle between the self-proclaimed “lone wolf” and another character played by Justin Hartley’s real-life wife, Sofia Pernas.
Floriana Lima (A Million Little Things, Supergirl) joins Tracker Season 2 in a recurring role. The new Tracker trailer offers the quickest glimpse yet of Lima, but it certainly sets up the possibility of a romance with Colter. In the trailer, Lima and Colter’s characters share a passionate kiss.
TVLine reports that Lima plays Camille Picket, who is described as “Haunting, compelling… Camille has been Colter’s on-again, off-again lover for at least the past 10 years.” The character synopsis adds, “Camille’s sister went missing 10 years ago and her case was never solved—which causes some trauma for both Camille and Colter on each anniversary of her disappearance, but also leads them to reconnect, at least for one evening.”
The synopsis for the first episode of Season 2 of Tracker gives a hint of what to expect: “While investigating the strange disappearance of a missing family whose car is found abandoned on the side of a road in the Arkansas backwoods, Colter makes a shocking discovery about his mother’s past that leads him into the world of organized crime. Additionally, Reenie opens her new law firm and enlists Velma’s help in setting up shop.”
As fans know, Camille is the second of Colter’s exes that Tracker introduces. Season 1 saw him reunite with his ex Billie Matalon (played by Hartley’s real-life wife Sofia Pernas), a rival rewarder who assisted Colter in previous jobs. In Season 1, Colter and Billie cross paths again five years after their split when Billie asks Colter for help with a job. The two then team up to track down a missing racehorse in Lexington, Kentucky.
Hartley confirmed to Deadline in May 2024 that Pernas would be back for Season 2 of Tracker, so there could be tension when Billie, Colter, and Camille all appear in the same episode.
“She’s definitely coming back. We have some pretty exciting stuff for her to do next year,” Hartley said. “She’s coming back multiple times next year. We’ve built a really great group of actors [who] hopefully will be ready to come back, because we’d love to do more with them. We have a lot of stories to tell with all of [them].”
TVLine also confirmed that Matt Long (Manifest) and Lindy Booth (The Librarians) will guest star in the October 13 premiere, “both playing key roles related to the aforementioned missing family case.”
CBS released a new trailer for Tracker Season 2 on September 13, which teases Jensen Ackles as Colter’s brother Russell and Sofia Pernas (Hartley’s real-life wife) as bounty hunter Billie Matalon.
In a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, Colter kisses a mystery woman, who we now know is Lima. Velma tells him over the phone, “I’m making sure you don’t do anything stupid,” to which he replies, “I don’t want to talk about it.” Tech expert Bobby noted, “Yeah, that sounds suspicious. In a September 19 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Hartley explained that his character couldn’t find a girl who went missing 10 years ago and he’s still investigating the case on the anniversary of her disappearance.” “We’re going to introduce him as a human being, not a superhero,” Hartley said. “He’s haunted by the fact that he can’t understand it, and that’s haunted him for years.” Showrunner Elwood Reid added, “It’s not this week’s case, but we end the episode with his ‘white whale’ case, the case that he can’t get away from.” That’s where Lima’s character comes in. “[Colter and Camille’s relationship] is based on pain, and it’s a shared pain that they have,” Reid explained. “It’s another way to approach Colter’s character emotionally.” Camille wants to get over the case, but Colter can’t because he can never solve it.
