Starring Tim Allen in the leading role, the show ran for 8 seasons before concluding in 1999. However, an actress from the show revealed that there were a lot of behind-the-scene grudges that actors had while filming the sitcom.
Patricia Richardson Thinks Tim Allen Still Blames Her

At that time, Home Improvement became a sitcom that resonated with households throughout America since the series was quite relatable to most families. Naturally, the show gained immense popularity.
However, in 1999, Patricia Richardson decided that she was tired of the series and left the show despite Tim Allen wanting her not to. This led to the eventual cancelation of the show in 1999.
In an interview with ET Online, Richardson revealed that she thinks that she is still blamed by Tim Allen for the cancelation of his show!
[He had] never really forgiven me for not wanting to do the ninth year. He loved Tim Taylor. Tim Taylor was this happily married man with his great boys and great life, and so he wanted that show to go on forever.
Well, the show ended up being canceled after Patricia Richardson left but received great ratings and critical acclaim from audiences around the world. Speaking of Tim Allen, the actor has one other notable role to his name.
Tim Allen voiced the character of Buzz Lightyear in the iconic 1995 film Toy Story alongside Tom Hanks and gained worldwide appreciation for his role. Naturally, when the sequels were announced, Tom Hanks and Tim Allen were somewhat undecided.
Tim Allen And Tom Hanks Have A Condition For Toy Story
It has been almost 30 years since the original Toy Story was released in 1995. Voicing the characters of Woody and Buzz Lightyear, Tom Hanks and Tim Allen became great friends over the years.
In an interview with The Rest is History podcast, Tom Hanks talked about whether they would be returning to their roles if the opportunity arose. Before everything was finalized, however, Hanks presented a condition.
Tim Allen and I still get together once a month because we knew we were a part of something quite profound that started over 25 years ago.
He further continued,
I will say the gatekeepers of all things Woody and Buzz do not take their tasks lightly…If it does happen, it’s going to have to go through a hothouse of all sorts of rigorous tests.
Well, there is a likely possibility that Tom Hanks and Allen might just reprise their roles of Woody and Lightyear in the upcoming 2026 film Toy Story 5. However, as of now, nothing can be confirmed or denied.
Toy Story received a rating of 8.3/10 on IMDB and a whopping 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. With Tim Allen and Tom Hanks in leading roles, the 1995 film is available to stream on Disney+ in the U.S.
