Poor Lilly was always burdened by loss and struggles, but even as she fought her way through, she took a moment to remember her husband and the life they had shared before he passed. She reminisced about how fulfilled she was around him, and reminded Mel to embrace love before it passed her by.
It was such a lovely way to think about the love of her life, as Lilly truly adored her husband. She was forced to live without him but would have done anything to spend another day with the father of her children.

Jack, Season 3
“…and I know in my heart that you did not end up in this random town by accident.” It was clear from the beginning that Jack was head over heels for Mel. After going through tough times in his life, he passionately admitted to her that he felt that the two of them were meant to be together, which was why Mel chose his little town to come live in.
Jack had been on the verge of losing Mel too many times, so he made sure to let her know that he was in it for the long haul. His faith in their love was really romantic, and he also followed through on his words with actions that validated them.

Brady, Season 3
Morally gray and tumultuous, fans expected to see more crime and sneaking around for Brady, but instead they were pleasantly surprised by his amorous side in Virgin River season 3. Brie and Brady quickly became a couple that fans loved, and his sincerity and care for Brie were inspiring.
Brie brought out a kinder and gentler side of Brady, and made him a better person. He knew this, and cherished his partner, which was a welcome change.

Jack often put Mel’s needs ahead of his own, because that was just how much he doted on her. Whether it was building a whole house for Mel, or helping her nurse others back to health, Jack was her biggest cheerleader.

There were several things that nobody saw coming in Virgin River season 4, but Jack and Mel’s love was definitely not it. They delivered touching moments and true romance, especially when they told each other how they felt.

Joey, Season 4
Mel’s sister Joey wasn’t immune to the romance of Virgin River, and it was very touching to see her fall for someone after going through a bad divorce, and still trusting him enough to jump headfirst into marriage. She chose not to be cynical, which was a nice change.
Joey let her love guide her to happiness, which was something many characters struggled with. They made a handsome couple, and despite the complications, the love continued to grow and flourish between them.

Jack, Season 4
Seeing Mel and Jack take their relationship to the next level was as exciting as it was moving. Jack took everything in his stride, and still stayed fully committed to giving Mel and their child a good life. Even the paternity test didn’t matter much to him, but it was just fantastic to see that he was the dad, after all.
Fans can’t wait to see Jack and Mel married, and become wonderful parents. Their love was worth fighting for, and they kept at it until they reached a beautiful stage in their relationship.
