Grey’s Anatomy & Station 19 Just Dropped a Crossover Twist That’ll Blow Your Mind

Meredith’s career will hang in the balance.

The worlds of Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 will collide again this season for a disaster that could have major implications on both shows.

ABC’s second multi-episode crossover of the season will air in the US across the 8pm and 9pm ET hours on Thursday, May 2 for a storyline that begins when one of the Station 19 crew is urgently rushed into Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary) oversees the treatment with help from Jo Karev (Camilla Luddington), with Jo learning a difficult lesson in the process (via Deadline).

Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) will be preoccupied with her own ethical dilemma when she works with a family seeking asylum, forcing her to make a decision that could impact her position at the hospital.

All of that will take place in a Grey’s Anatomy episode called ‘What I Did for Love’, which will be directed by cast member Jesse Williams.

Then in Station 19‘s ‘Always Ready’ at 9pm ET, viewers will see events leading up to a member of the team ending up in Grey Sloan Memorial when a fire breaks out in a coffee beanery. Can the Grey Sloan staff work fast enough to save them?

Station 19‘s Danielle Savre recently previewed the upcoming crossover in an interview with Digital Spy by promising it would have a major impact on the future of both shows.

“It will affect every single person on the show,” she told us. “It’s going to be huge. People are going to cry a lot. We all cried while filming it. It’s going to be a rough, rough couple of episodes to watch.”

Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 air on ABC in the US and on Sky Witness in the UK.
