More Chaos Awaits in ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 22
The season premiere picks up right after the events of the season finale. “I wanted to return right to the chaos,” said Marinis. However, viewers won’t have to wait long to see who survives. Everyone’s fate will be revealed, and then, “there’s obviously going to be some hospital rebuilding that needs to happen. And so we’re going to play the aftermath for more than just the first episode, absolutely — the emotional trauma as well as the hospital needing to be put back together,” the showrunner revealed.
The show will continue to thread the arcs from Season 21 that were introduced or left unresolved. Chief among them is Simone’s (Alexis Floyd) hook up, which later circled back and threatens to upend her life, especially her relationship with Lucas (Niko Terho). Trevor Jackson is back for more episodes of the show, testing Simone and Lucas’ relationship. One tense interaction between his character and Simone is seen in the images above. Speaking about this arc, Marinis said:
“We will be seeing Trevor Jackson more, and he is an amazing person. He’s so talented. It’s been so fun with him on set already, and he is definitely mixing up the dynamics between our resident cast members, specifically Simone and Lucas. There’s definitely going to be ramifications of what happened at the end of last season.
