Caterina Scorsone and E.R. Fightmaster are spending quality time together off screen.
The Grey’s Anatomy costars, who play Dr. Amelia Shepherd and Dr. Kai Bartley in the ABC series, spent time together in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 22.
During the casual outing, the actors were seen holding hands as they shopped together. Scorsone, 44, wore a green shirt and matching hat with blue jeans, while Fightmaster, 33, rocked a white button-up and brown trousers.
The visit comes shortly after the duo stepped out for the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s 34th annual Academy Awards party on Sunday, March 15.

Scorsone boarded Grey’s in 2010 for the show’s seventh season, while Fightmaster appeared in seasons 18 and 19, making history as they portrayed the first non-binary character in a recurring role.
In the series, Scorsone and Fightmaster’s characters dated as the duo “Kaimelia,” before Kai left in season 19 to pursue a job offer in London.
In January, Scorsone returned to Grey’s Anatomy after a seven-episode absence at the end of 2025. Speaking with Shondaland, the actress reflected on her character’s relationship with Kai.
“The Kaimelia situation was such a heartbreak for Amelia because they were such a beautiful match and they both had this really electric understanding of the brain and neurosurgery,” she said. “But life circumstances weren’t matching up, and there were all these externals that made it impossible. So since that heartbreak, she’s really been focused on medicine, which I think is actually the love of her life — her passion for the miracle of medicine and the human body.”

The pair have previously raved about working with each other and spending time together outside of filming, with Fightmaster calling Scorsone a “special person” in a 2023 conversation with Fr Conventions.
“A lot of our values align too,” Fightmaster said at the time. “I bring her with me to a lot of stuff and she brings me along to a lot of stuff. The last thing we did together that I was super stoked about was, I bring her to WNBA events. And we got to meet Brittney and Cherelle Griner, and that was awesome. Before that, we had volunteered at a high school with theater kids.”
They added, “We have a lot of fun together in a lot of really nice ways.”

Scorsone is a mother of three and shares daughters Eliza, 13, Pippa, 9, and Lucky, 6, with her ex-husband, musician Rob Giles.
The pair split after over a decade of marriage in 2020, with reps telling PEOPLE at the time that the former couple “remain friends and are committed to co-parenting their children in a spirit of love.”
