Just a few months after a serious bike accident that left him so bruised and battered he couldn’t even dress himself in the morning, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is back in fighting form.
The 57-year-old Master Chef host is on the cover of the new issue of Men’s Health UK, and fans can’t get enough of their favorite buff foodie.
Ramsay shared several photos from the magazine shoot to Instagram, including a shirtless image and two more in workout gear.
“Finally, they’ve put me on the cover of @menshealthuk! I speak for the first time about my bike accident, how fitness is at the foundation of everything I do and why I have absolutely no interest in putting my feet up in the Caribbean anytime soon,” Ramsay captioned his post.
Commenters couldn’t believe their eyes.
“Didn’t have Gordon Ramsey thirst trap on my Thursday bingo card but here we are,” wrote one fan, with another person agreeing the photos were the “last thing I expected to see at 6 in the morning.”
“YES CHEF,” declared another person.
In the Men’s Health UK article, Ramsay opened up about the important role fitness plays in his life, even after his scary bicycle mishap. According to the star, he uses exercise as a way to manage and “stay in control” of his busy life, signing up for at least two events—like an Ironman or a marathon—every year.
“I think about the pace I work and the responsibilities I take on,” Ramsay said, “Then I think about the drive that I have; fitness is the foundation. You’re on your own, up a mountain, on a bike, trail, run, swim. I find training relaxing because it just gets me out of that fast lane.”
Ramsay also said he has no intentions of retiring anytime soon.
“I could sit back, put my feet up, buy a boat and f**k off to the Caribbean, but I have no interest in that,” he said. “I love the jeopardy…and I can do that because I’m fit. I can do that because I’ve got the drive. When I haven’t got the drive, then I’ll decide to hang up the hat.”
